Exploding kittens es el proyecto de kickstarter con más patrocinadores de la historia. Creado por Elan Lee (Xbox, ARGs), Matthew Inman (The Oatmeal), y Shane Small (Xbox, Marvel), el juego Exploding Kittens hizo historia en Kickstarter cuando logró contar con más de 219 000 patrocinadores.

Se trata de una versión gatuna de la ruleta rusa con un gran componente estratégico. Los jugadores van robando cartas hasta que a alguien le sale un Exploding Kitten. Cuando esto sucede, esa persona muere y queda eliminada de la partida a no ser que tenga una carta de Desactivación, que anulará el efecto del Exploding Kitten con punteros láser, rascaditas de barriga y sándwiches de atún.
