El 501.er Batallón de Clones ha servido a la República en conflictos eminentes, como la batalla de Cristopsis y el asedio de Mandalore. Esta unidad, particularmente conocida por su valentía y sus métodos poco ortodoxos, se ha labrado una excelente reputación en el Gran Ejército de la República por su capacidad para triunfar ante toda adversidad. Parte del mérito puede atribuirse a su comandante, el general jedi Anakin Skywalker, cuya tendencia a liderar desde el frente inspira a sus tropas a dar lo mejor de sí mismas.
